While training authentic and highly skilled TaeKwonDo artists, the ITA believes
the higher purpose of TaeKwonDo education is to prepare students for the responsibilities
of citizenship. TaeKwonDo is about real and powerful experiences, resulting in the
discovery of innate capabilities and a heightened sense of responsibility.
Academy member TaeKwonDo
students are challenged to do what is right and ethical, despite skepticism and
despite the pull of the outside world. Our Partners in Learning,
Personal Safety Protection Program, and TaeKwonDo Scholarship Program are in this spirit.
Partners in Learning Program
If increasing your academic performance and discipline is a goal, our Partners in
Learning Program and unique environment of individual encouragement combined with
consistent class structure will get you on the right path and ensure future success.
Ho-Am TaeKwonDo helps children develop many good qualities through a fun and exciting
art form. We encourage our students to live by our tenets and to set goals to do their
best in all areas of their lives, not just on the training floor. Our Partners in Learning
program supports the value of education by building a partnership between the schools.
Through a combined effort, TaeKwonDo Instructors and academic teachers work together to reward
participating students who exhibit their TaeKwonDo spirit by exercising academic effort and
living up to the tenet system while in the classroom.
Instructors strive to mentor their students in both mind and body. Life skills, academic study,
and a desire for lifelong learning should be a major focus for students now and throughout their lives.
There is much to gain from the experiences of grandparents, parents, teachers, coaches, historic figures,
and others. Life skills are the building blocks for success!
Personal Safety Protection Program
The goal of the Child and Family Safety Program is to mentor community families
in personal protection using Tom Patire’s Know and Go®, Bully Guard™,
TeenSafe™ and Training for Life® courses. This is a great way for academies to contribute
what they know and love by sharing personal protection knowledge with both current students and those outside
the TaeKwonDo program to help make everyone in our communities safer, dealing with issues such as bullying
and safety awareness.

TaeKwonDo Scholarship Program
The goal of the TaeKwonDo Scholarship Program is to provide TaeKwonDo mentoring
to those who are not able to afford membership. With this contribution from academies,
community leaders are encouraged to make recommendations of adolescents who may benefit
from this program. We believe mentoring one child at a time will make a difference one
day at a time.
